Dear class mates. Last week I began my Sunday thoughts post by sharing some milestones. Thinking Class had passed 100 subscribers on Substack and YouTube and the channel altogether had been viewed or listened to around 12,000 times. 5,500 of those came from YouTube and half of those from the previous week. I was quite chuffed.
Well, this week things took off even more. The episode with Lionel Shriver ‘Why I Left Britain (And Feel Guilty About It)” has been viewed 5,500 times in the last week with 3,000 of those in the last 48 hours. Watch it below or listen to it here:
Thinking Class now has 370 subscribers on YouTube and nearly 120 on Substack. In total, the channel has now been watched or listened to 20,000 times - almost double last week’s figure. The episode is deeply heartfelt, even if a little black pill at times. I found an antidote to this in
’s St. George’s Day post this year. It takes a deep look at England, its past and the state of it but finishes with one of the most moving exhortations I’ve read on Substack. Or ever, in fact. Please take the time to read it:Links and recommendations
